Natasha Tang Kai, PhD
Founder, Environmental Ambassador

Natasha Tang Kai is our founder and environmental ambassador. She provides overall strategic direction and supports content development and delivery. With over 20 years of experience in the public sector and academia, Natasha is a seasoned environmental professional known for her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to sustainability.

Her passion for the natural world was cultivated in the tropics during her childhood in Trinidad. This early connection to nature provided the foundation for a lifelong dedication to environmental stewardship. Now based in Canada with her family, Natasha continues to champion innovative approaches to environmental policy and education. Natasha resides in Mississauga, Ontario.

Madison Curtis, BSc
Project Lead, Illustrator

Madison has Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo, specializing in Earth and Geological Sciences. She is headed to Memorial University of Newfoundland in September 2026 to study Education in hopes of becoming a secondary science teacher.

Madison has worked with Our Earth Nature for over three years as the creative content lead for all projects, main illustrator, and research lead. Her passions include collecting and identifying rocks, multimedia art, chasing the northern lights, and spending time outdoors camping (especially when it is in the Canadian Shield!).

Sylvie Brine
Illustrator, Translator

Sylvie Brine is a graphic design student, illustrator, translator, and Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.) based in New Brunswick, Canada. With a background in Holistic Nutrition and a growing practice in visual design, she brings a thoughtful, nature-inspired perspective to her creative work.

Her illustration style is rooted in kawaii and anime-inspired digital art, with a focus on expressive characters, soft visual details, and playful storytelling. Through her work with Our Earth Nature, Sylvie helps bring environmental stories to life through illustration and French Canadian translation, creating work that is engaging for children while staying true to each book’s original message, purpose, and scientific integrity.

Outside of her creative practice, Sylvie finds inspiration in quiet everyday moments, nature trail walks, and reading.
